Elite Dynasty League Week 6 Recap

Week 6 Recap

Week 6 of the season is over and this might have been the closest week yet. With multiple matches coming down to the Monday Night Football game, it was a stressful night for some. The league is still battling but we’re starting to see some common names in the Overachiever categories.

Stat of the Week: 1.94 points. Or 19.4 rushing yard. Or a 14.4 yard catch. That was the COMBINED margin of victory in our TWO closest match ups this week.

Week 6 Match Up Summaries

Zaylor Swift (3-2) vs Stacks Don’t Lie (3-2)

Josh vs Ducc.png

Stacks Don’t Lie wins 124.18 – 123.12!

Summary:

If you checked the score immediately after the Colts vs Titans game ended on Monday night, you would have seen a victory for Zaylor Swift. But thanks to a sack being taken away from Woodyard, Stacks Don’t Lie ended up with the narrow victory.  This was a series of small misfortunes combining with a Zeke Elliot bye that really did in Zaylor Swift. It’s a rough week with rough match up luck.

Stacks Don’t Lie got a nice win as this was the first full week with Odell Beckham Jr on the IR for the season. Things were looking very grim for most of Sunday but a late 4th quarter 50 yard circus catch touchdown from Big Ben to Antonio Brown that resulted in over 20 team points gave him the boost he needed for the victory.

Spooky Garoppolo  (1-4) vs The Mad Chadder (3-2)

Eric vs Chad

The Mad Chadder wins 142.10 – 76.94!

Summary:

We call him the cellar dweller for a reason. Spooky Garoppolo really found himself deep in the basement this week. Hardly projected to get 100 points, it truly was a pathetic showing. However, we will cut him some slack as starter Jameis Winston was removed early in the game and was only able to give him 2.94 points.

The Mad Chadder turned in another great performance and crowned himself the new Power Ranking leader. Rookie Kareem Hunt has returned to earth a bit but is still putting in great performances and Kirk Cousins looked like a top QB this past week. A big matchup with #2 Footsteps Falco awaits for him next week.

The Myth Of Kojac (0-5) vs F a Podcast (3-2)

 kojac vs itzler

The Myth Of Kojac wins 109.90 – 96.16!

Summary:

And there it is! The first win of the season for The Myth Of Kojac. It wasn’t completely unexpected but it’s good to see that another year of dynasty will occur without a winless team. Despite having Andre Ellington drop a goose egg (with a double digit projection), the Giants D turned in an outstanding performance and helped him pull the upset.

The fall from grace hasn’t been fun for F a Podcast. The once league darling who started out 2-0 with some great upsets has fallen to .500 and with this loss to the last place team. Injuries combined with players losing their roles/touches have all contributed, but some poor sit or start decisions is what really did him in this week. He left 82.56 points on the bench compared to the 48.66 of his opponent.

Agent Lee (3-2) vs Black Breesus (4-1)

 nick vs add

Black Breesus wins 137.06 – 117.12!

Summary:

Agent Lee just cannot catch a break this season. But it’s not the loss that he will be worried about. It’s the loss of A-aron Rodgers for the season that hurts the most. He has already acquired Alex Smith to try and ride to a championship, but the record of 3-3 just does not show the true strength of this team.

On the other hand, Black Breesus (the team formerly known as CarrFace) must have sacrificed to and sucked off the Fantasy Gods this year. His luck with match ups continued and he was able to get another match up where his opponent did not come close to his projections. He has an easy opponent next week before the rematch with Agent Lee in week 8.

Footsteps Falco (3-2) vs Brunch Wit Da Funch (2-3)

 rogers vs rob

Footsteps Falco wins 153.40 – 144.14!

Summary:

Footsteps Falco continues to put his name in the favorites category for league champion with another strong week. Waiver wire pickup Jerrick McKinnon has proved to be a great pickup with a strong 24.00 points this week and Le’Veon Bell is starting to look like the workhorse of ’16. A beat up and ineffective J. Stew helped McCaffrey increase his role and look good, so this team is definitely trending up.

This is a rough loss for Brunch Wit Da Funch. Once again the second highest score in the league ends up with a loss. (It seems like this is an odd trend for this year.) He had a very strong week, especially with Mark Ingram running wild over the Lions, but in the end he just couldn’t  get the W. He did start his optimal lineup so he can feel good about that, but poor performances by his IDPs and kicker just prevented him from getting the victory.

Mixon Administration (3-2) vs A Gurley Has No Name (3-2)

 weyer vs greg.png

A Gurley Has No Name wins 118.88 – 118.02!

Summary:

Not a good MNF game for Mixon Administration. With Marlon Mack and Donte Moncrief needing a combined 12.1 points, things were looking good before the game. After Moncrief caught a pass and Mack broke off a 22 yard rush on the first drive (Mack’s first touch), things looked even better. And then a dropped TD for Moncrief, and Mack only getting 1 touch the rest of the game, took the victory out of his hands. This was a heartbreaker for sure.

A Gurley Has No Name was happy as can be to squeeze out a win this week. Accepting defeat before MNF began, I don’t think anyone was happier to see the game go the way it did. This score was way below his projection and not above league average but a win is a win. He should get some people back from byes and has a much easier match up against F a Podcast next week.

Team Triforce (2-3) vs Long n’ Skinny 😉 (2-3)

 tiz vs rigg

Long n’ Skinny 😉 wins 129.08 – 104.92!

Summary:

We knew that Team Triforce was going to really struggle after his devastating injuries, so this looks like what we can expect for the rest of the season. Almost exactly on his predicted score, it looks like this just isn’t the year for this team. However, I will say that he had inconsistent scores through his team, so maybe if they all put it together for one week, he can pull off some upsets.

Long n’ Skinny 😉 put in a solid performance this week to get back to .500. Last minute pickup Josh McCown was his overachiever of the week and Leonard Fournette continued his RoY campaign. He did suffer an injury this week but luckily for owner Andrew Riggio it doesn’t look to be anything major. This team will look to continue his winning streak against Mixon Administration in week 7.
